There has also been an amalgamation of two labels, Indessens and Calliope who have combined forces and a recording of German Christmas music on the Etcetera label performed by the Apollo Ensemble, plus a new recording of the Chandos Handel Anthems performed by Musica Gloria, a young ensemble comprised of eight singers and seven instrumentalists.
There’s another Christmas release from Avie, Veni Redemptor Gentium performed by Concordian Dawn, a medieval music ensemble, and a lovely collection of English consort music, symphonies, dances, and fantasies from the period 1580 to 1706 (Baker Street) from the Fra Bernardo label.T here are some wonderful opera reissues also from the Coviello and Urania labels, plus a debut recording on the Audax label of soprano Adriana González who presents a dazzling exploration of Mozart and his contemporaries including rare arias and rediscovered gems performed through the lens of historical performance, accompanied by the critically acclaimed Ensemble Diderot with Johannes Pramsohler.
